We have the honor and pleasure to inform you that ASHRAE Region XIV has selected the Danube Chapter in collaboration with the Serbian HVAC&R Society for hosting the first Chapter Regional Conference – CRC of Region XIV in Belgrade, Serbia. This important event will bring together delegates, managers, decision makers and technical experts from European ASHRAE chapters and the USA.

The CRC will be held at the Sava Center on December 8–10, 2017 and will be attended by the ASHRAE President, Society and Regional leadership along with delegates from eight European ASHRAE Chapters and other professionals from Europe. This Conference is an unique opportunity to interact with executives of major HVAC&R companies and other participants from various countries.

The CRC will be held on December 8–10, 2017 following the 48th International HVAC&R Congress and Exhibition (December 6–8). The Congress is traditionally endorsed by ASHRAE, sponsored by UNEP and UNIDO and with more than 80 sponsoring companies from Europe and Serbia, and expect more than 1.000 registered participants.

As an author delivering a paper at the 48th Congress (December 6–8) is exempted from the Congress fee and organizer covers hotel accomodation for nights on December 6 and 7. Two events – one fee

The Serbian HVAC&R Society organizes the HVAC&R Congress and Exhibition and the first ASHRAE Region XIV CRC, as a member of the ASHRAE Danube Chapter. Both events are organized in the Sava Center, Belgrade. The ASHRAE regional conferences are usually organized far from Serbia, but now, Serbian engineers have unique opportunity to meet the ASHRAE leadership, to get acquainted with its operation, and actively join and support the Danube Chapter.

By paying the 48th Congress fee, a participants may attend the CRC open sessions – chapter officers trainings on Saturday, December 9, Business sessions on Saturday and Sunday, December 9 and 10.

Participation in lunches and dinners and other social events during the CRC is charged separately.

This information are obtained by couresy of Tourist Organization of Belgrade (TOB). The TOB is a public service of the Assembly of the City of Belgrade, founded to conduct activities relating to development, preservation and protection of tourist values on the territory of Belgrade.

In promoting Belgrade as a tourist destination, the TOB, as a destination management organization, aggregates information on tourist services provided by hotels, restaurants, tourist agencies, souvenir manufacturers and artisans, manifestation organizers and all other professions that provide services for tourists visiting Belgrade.

If you need visa, here are general entry requirements for Serbia.

  1. Valid passport/travel document;
  2. Valid visa in the passport, if a Serbian visa is required for passport holders of the respective country;
  3. Proof of sufficient funds for staying in Serbia. Sufficient funds are considered to be 50 Euros per day of stay, proved by possession of the appropriate amount of cash, bank statement, traveller's cheques, credit cards or a letter of guarantee;
  4. Certificate of vaccination or a note that he/she has not contracted a contagious disease despite coming from an area affected by a pandemic, as defined by the information of the Ministry of Health.
  5. If underage children are travelling with one of their parents, it is necessary to submit a relevant certified authorization by the other parent; or if the child is travelling with a third person such authorization is required from both parents or guardian;
  6. It is recommended to have a health insurance for the period of stay in Serbia, covering possible medical costs to the amount of not less than 20,000 Euros.

Belgrade Talking is a free application which takes users to more than 30 city locations bringing a brand new perception of the capital, in a simple, swift, informative and entertaining manner. 

After downloading the app, simply point the smart phone camera towards the nearest location and a series of short stories will instantly open. An audio guide will be automatically activated allowing users to focus on the architecture of buildings, institutions, monuments, religious facilities and details rather than the phone screen. Maps provide an actual tour around the city as the application proposes the best sightseeing route, guiding to the next closest location.

The landmarks covered by the app are the Monument to Prince Mihailo, Gratitude to France Monument, Monument to Karadjordje, Terazije Fountain, Monument to Vuk Karadžić, City Hall, Presidency Building, National Assembly Building, Moskva Hotel, “?“ Inn,  National Library and Belgrade City Library, Djura Jakšić’s House, Residences of Princess Ljubica and Prince Miloš, Nikola Tesla Museum, May 25th Museum, House of Flowers, Cathedral, St Sava’s Church, St Mark’s Church, Church of the Holy Virgin Mary – Ružica, Church of Christ the King, Synagogue and Bayrakli Mosque.

The application is available in Serbian and English, and is created for Android and iOS. It supports the phone models with Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" and new generation models, and iOS 5.0 and new generation models. It is available in Google play and will also be put up to the App Store for iOS before the EXIT festival begins. The application will be upgraded further on to include new city sites and the Exit special edition will serve as the basis for a special application, Novi Sad Talking.

The official tender in Serbia is dinar, abbreviated RSD. Money may be exchanged in all banks and post offices, as well as in authorized exchange offices. Dinar is issued in denominations of 10/20/50/100/200/500/1000/5000.
